These are hands-on classes, so you will need to bring your Pfaff or Bernina embroidery machine. Classes are free for Design Connection Members.

Have you admired Baltimore Album quilts? Been overwhelmed by just the thought of how many hours or months go into making one? Well, this is NOT a traditional Baltimore Album quilt! None of that nasty handwork. We will be using machine applique and machine embroidery -- ALL done on the machine. This is easy embroidery, with blocks set on point, and a few miters. The embroideries all fit in a 130 mm hoop. 4 lessons. Intermediate level. Embroidery collection purchase required.

Come make a plate (or trivet) from cotton rope, fabric, and thread. This wrapping/coiling technique is carefree sewing at its best! The raw edges are showing? Who cares! Your machine stitches show on the outside? Again, who cares! Throw caution to the wind and play with Rosemarie. This addictive technique is a stash wacker, to boot. Suitable for any zig-zag sewing machine.

This is an in depth workshop series that will lecture and guide you through the intricate steps in assembling a suit jacket. Classes will cover designer couture techniques (hand stitching), fitting, cutting and shaping the sleeves, attaching the lining, facings, pockets, plackets, closures, trims and buttonholes. Intermediate level/ 8 lessons.

Our old friend, the yoyo, makes a lovely flower floating in the breeze above a machine-stitched stem. Add some appliqued leaves and you have created a YoYo Garden! Use a variety of soft pastels for an English garden look, choose Christmas colors, or your favorite palette.You can use new fabrics, or dig out those scraps tht haven't found a home in a quilt. You could even exchange fabrics with classmates to get a real scrappy look. Suitable for any sewing machine..
